Kent Alfred is a seasoned animator with eighteen years of experience in the animation industry. He graduated with a degree in New Media from Texas A&M – Commerce and began his career at Reel FX, where he spent nine years rising from an apprentice to an animation supervisor. At Reel FX, he worked on a variety of projects, including “Open Season 2,” “Open Season 3,” “Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious 5,” Looney Tunes short films, and Chuck E. Cheese commercials. His work also includes notable feature films like “Free Birds,” “The Book of Life,” and “Rock Dog.”
In addition to his professional work, Kent has also shared his expertise as an animation instructor at the University of Texas at Dallas and AnimSchool, where he taught the fundamentals of animation, helping many students begin their own careers in the industry.
For the past nine years, Kent has been a key member of Gearbox Software, advancing from senior animator to animation director. His contributions at Gearbox include work on “Battleborn”, “Borderlands 3”, and “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands”. Throughout his career, Kent has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a passion for developing both his own skills and those of others.
Outside of his professional life, Kent is a dedicated husband and father who actively serves his church and community, always willing to help others and lead by example.
