A Bunch Of Short Guys is a Dallas-based non-profit animation guild established to foster a community of world-class artists and storytellers. The group provides an educational resource for the local community of entertainment professionals, educators and students, helping visual creators pursue career development.
ABOSG was formed as a group of 10 animators working together on an animated short to enter into Siggraph’s Electronic Theater. Our name is a play on the word “Short”, as we were a bunch of guys working on a short.
The original 10 members are silhouettes in the group logo: Vince Sidwell, Brandon Bruce, T.G. Weems, Will Nicholson, Eric Craft, Bryan Smith, Chad Briggs, Tom Ottinger, J. Marshall Pittman and J. Schuh.
The group has changed over the years, evolving from a “bunch of guys” to a community of like-minded individuals working to improve the Texas animation economy.
