Katherine Timer is a multidisciplinary artist and award-winning educator with over 20 years of experience in graphic design, scientific illustration, and visual storytelling. With an MFA in Computer Art from Savannah College of Art & Design and a BFA in Painting from Tyler School of Art at Temple University, Katherine brings both technical expertise and creative insight to the art of figure drawing.
Throughout her career, Katherine has taught at respected institutions such as The Art Institutes, the University of North Texas, and Dallas College, where she was recognized with honors including “Teacher of the Year” and “Honored Faculty Member.” Her professional background includes serving as a medical illustrator at UT Southwestern Medical Center in the Department of Genetics, where she developed a strong foundation in human anatomy. Katherine also co-hosted figure drawing sessions with ASIFA-Atlanta, combining her passion for traditional drawing for animation with her experience in bioscience. Her teaching approach emphasizes capturing the essence of the human form through expressive gesture drawing.
Currently working as a Creative Director in litigation, Katherine specializes in creating impactful visuals for high-stakes legal presentations. Her passion for drawing from life remains a cornerstone of her creative practice.
