Industry Giants 2005: Frame by Frame, the fourth annual event, moved beyond the illusion to feature a distinctive lineup of speakers working in all areas of animation and special effects for film, television, gaming and interactive theme park rides.
The first Industry Giants Masterclass featured Bobby Beck, president and CEO of AnimationMentor.com leading a presentation on animation techniques.
The 2005 presenter line-up represented such studios Disney (David Bossert), Sony Pictures Imageworks (Chris Williams, Spider Man 2), DNA Productions (David Tart, The Ant Bully), Troublemaker Studios (Chris Olivia, Sin City) and the production company Radar Cartoons (Rita Street).

Bobby Beck
Bobby Beck graduated from the Academy of ArtCollege in 1997 and has been an animator for over 8 years. He has worked for such studios as Walt Disney Feature Animation, Tippett Studio, Wildbrain and Pixar Animation Studios. His film credits include Virus, My Favorite Martian, Dinosaur, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles and Pixar’s upcoming Cars. David Bossert
David Bossert has been with the Walt Disney Company for more than 21 years. He has served as a Producer, Artistic Coordinator, Visual Effects Supervisor and is currently a Director at Disney Toon Studios. His film work includes The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King, Pocahontas, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas, Hercules, the Academy Award-nominated Runaway Brain, and Fantasia 2000 for which he served as Artistic Coordinator and Visual Effects Supervisor. Dave served as Associate Producer on the award winning and Academy Award-nominated short Destino. He also has served
as the Artistic Coordinator and Visual Effects Supervisor on the award winning and Academy Award nominated short Lorenzo. He has also participated in the restoration efforts of many of the Disney animated shorts and the recently restored feature Bambi. Currently, David is the artist lead for the restoration of Cinderella and Lady and the Tramp.
Chris Olivia
Chris Olivia is a freelance animator specializing in 3-D pre-visualization and animatics with experience in gaming, film, television and motion-based rides. With more than ten years experience with some of the top visual effects houses, his background includes work with Troublemaker Studios, Digital Anvil/Microsoft, Rhythm & Hues, Origin Systems and Digital Sight & Sound on films including Sin City, Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3-D, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams, Spy Kids, Wing Commander, and Kazaam.
David Tart
David Tart is currently Animation Director at DNA Productions. He has 12 years of industry experience for such companies as Danger Productions/ABC, Wild Brain, Pixar and Blue Sky. He has worked in traditional stop motion as well as 3D animation as an Animator and Animation Director. David’s film credits include: Robots, Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., Toy Story II, Toy Story, A Bug’s Life and the German feature film Tamanana. His television work includes the award-winning Lamasil Alive ad and ABC’s Bump In The Night.
Chris Williams
Chris Williams is a Senior Character Animator with Sony Pictures Imageworks who worked on Spider-Man 2 which won the 2004 Academy Award® for Best Visual Effects. He has contributed to critically-acclaimed
shorts and features including The ChubbChubbs, Stuart Little 2, Spider-Man, and The Polar Express. He is currently working on the computer generated feature Open Season. Williams transitioned from classical animation to CG with work on Disney’s 1999 Emmy Award-winning Rolie Polie Olie.
