Kim Davidson is the President and CEO of SideFX®, a company he co-founded in
SideFX is a world-leading innovator of advanced 3D animation and special
effects Houdini® software. He is the recipient of multiple awards, including three
Scientific and Technical Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and
Sciences. In 2018, Kim accepted the Oscar® presented to SideFX for the creation
and development of Houdini, the preeminent visual effects software.
As a long-serving member of the Visual Effects Society (VES), he is currently
serving his third year as its Board Chair. The VES is an honorary society with over
nearly 6000 global members.
Kim co-founded Catapult Productions in 1992 and served as President and
Executive Producer for the children’s 3D animated series “Monster by Mistake”.
The 52 half-hour shows aired in over 30 countries.
